Karnataka State Law University - Admission 2015

Karnataka State Law University, Hubballi invites application from the eligible candidates for admission to the following courses in Law, for the academic year 2015-16 at its Law School and affiliated Law Colleges.

Courses Offer:

  • LL.B. - 3 years Course
  • B.A. LL.B. / BBA, LL.B. - 5 years Integrated Course
  • B.A LL.B. (Hons), BBA, LL.B. (Hons) - 5 years Integrated Course

Eligibility:

LL.B. 3 years course:

  • An applicant who has graduated in any discipline of knowledge from a University established by an Act of Parliament or by a State Legislature or an equivalent national institution recognized as a Deemed to be University or Foreign University recognized as equivalent to the status of an Indian University by an authority competent to declare equivalence, may apply for Three year degree course in law leading to the conferment of LL.B. degree on successful completion of the regular programme conducted under the KSLU Regulations.
  • Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of General category applicants and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.

Explanation:

  • An applicant who has passed the 3 years U.G. degree & 2/3 years P.G. degree from Open or Deemed University recognized by and established under the UGC Act, after prosecuting the studies in the pattern of 10+2 at Secondary/Higher Secondary Schooling is eligible for admission.
  • An applicant will be eligible, if he/she obtains 45% of marks in P.G. Degree, provided that he/she has prosecuted the study pattern in 10+2+3 format.
  • The applicant who has passed the qualifying examination (U.G. or P.G. degree) in a single sitting examination is not eligible for admission to 3 yr LL.B Law Course of KSLU, Hubballi.

B.A.LL.B. / B.B.A. LL.B. / B.A.LL.B. (Hons) / B.B.A.LL.B. (Hons) 5 years Integrated Course:

  • An applicant who has successfully completed Pre-University course or Senior Secondary School course ('+2') or equivalent such as (11+1, 'A' level in Senior School Leaving Certificate Course) from a recognized University of India or outside or from Senior Secondary Board or equivalent, constituted or recognized by the Union or by the State Government or from any equivalent institution from a foreign country recognized by the government of that country for the purpose of issue of qualifying certificate on successful completion of the course, may apply for and be admitted into the course.

Provided that the applicants who have obtained +2 Higher Secondary Pass Certificate or First Degree Certificate after prosecuting studies in distance or correspondence method shall also be considered as eligible for admission to 5 year and 3 year LL.B. Course.

Explanation:

  • The applicant who has passed the prescribed minimum qualification in a single sitting examination is not eligible for admission to 5 year LL.B Law courses of KSLU, Hubballi.
  • Provided further that the applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation or post graduation through open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such studies are not eligible for admission to the course.
  • Minimum percentage of marks in qualifying examination shall not be below 45% (44.5% and above shall be treated as 45%) of total marks in case of General category applicants and 40% (39.5% and above shall be treated as 40%) of total marks in case of SC and ST applicants.
  • All Subsequent years (classes) of all law courses:
    • The Principal shall verify the promotional eligibility of the students for admission to next class/year of the course. In this regard principal has to enclose the certificate stating that, the student has fulfilled the promotional eligibility criteria for the course.
    • The admissions for subsequent years shall be made as per Admission Time Table 2015-16 enclosing all previous semester marks cards.

  • Incomplete applications shall be liable to be rejected.

Eligibility Certificate for outside Karnataka and Foreigners:
The applicant who has passed the prescribed qualifying examination from recognised University / Boards of examination that are situated outside Karnataka or in a foreign country shall compulsorily obtain the Eligibility Certificate before taking the admission.

Such candidates may apply for the Eligibility Certificates to the KSLU with necessary original documents in the prescribed form by post or in person by paying necessary fees, to the office of K.S.L.U., Hubballi along with all original marks cards of 10th, 12th Std & U.G/P.G. Degree's, as applicable along with transcripts issued by the concerned University or Board or Department.

Admission Procedure:

  • Admission to the course shall be made strictly on the basis of merit. While making admission to the course reservation policy of the Government of Karnataka governing admissions to higher educational institutions issued from time to time shall be observed.
  • 2 seats under supernumerary quota shall be reserved for the Jammu and Kashmir students within the sanctioned intake until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India.
  • 5% of seats shall be reserved for the Kashmiri Migrants until the last date of admission as per the orders of Govt. of India, Dept. of HRD, New-Delhi. The persons claiming the status of Kashmiri Migrants should produce the identity card issued by the Jurisdictional Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of the Government of Karnataka to this effect.
  • Reservation for Hyderabad - Karnataka students under Art 371(J) as per rules shall be adhered to 8% of the seats shall be reserved for them.
  • 3% of seats shall be reserved for physically challenged students as per rules applicable.

Fees:

  • All Principals are strictly instructed to collect the fees as prescribed by the University and Government of Karnataka.
  • The college shall apply to concerned District Social Welfare Department for the reimbursement of SC/ST student's fees & should remit to the University.
