National Conference on Gender Sensitivity: Law and Society

College of Law & Legal Studies, Teerthanker Mahaveer University is going to organize a National Conference on "Gender Sensitivity: Law and Society"

Venue: Teerthanker Mahaveer University, Moradabad, Uttar Pradesh

Despite a lot of successes in empowering women, many issues still remain unresolved in various spheres of life, ranging from the cultural, political to the legal and economic.

An increasing number of governments are adopting equality laws to encourage ongoing societal evolution, to redress past discriminations, and to eliminate existing discriminations in domestic laws, policies and practices. Such equality laws usually contain gender provisions. Governments can implement legislation with the goal of promoting wider societal transformation.

The National Conference on "Gender Sensitivity: Law and Society" aims to raise public awareness of women-related issues and promote gender sensitivity within the community. The conference will allow participants to exchange ideas on public education, gender mainstreaming, empowerment of women and legal perspective of gender concerns.

Call for Papers:
Selection of papers for presentation will be based on detailed abstracts and a maximum of four key words. Abstracts will be reviewed and only those abstracts approved by the reviewers will be selected. A soft copy of the abstract in Microsoft Word for Windows should be mailed to conference.law15@gmail.com on before 20th March, 2015. The registration form should be attached with the Abstract. Approval of abstract will be sent on before 25th March, 2015

Guidelines for Paper Submission:
The generalized page size kept is A4 with a margin of 1.5 inch left margin. The paper should be typed in "Times New Romans" only with font size of 12pt. The full length paper both in Microsoft word and PDF format should be sent to conference.law15@gmail.com on before 15th April, 2015.

References should be given separately at the end of the paper and arranged alphabetically, Notification for confirmation will be sent on before 20th April, 2015.

Paper Presentation in Absentia:
Those who cannot come to Moradabad but wish to present paper are also encouraged to send their abstract. Papers presented in absentia are eligible for publication in Conference proceedings.

Delegate Fee:

  • Teachers/Academicians Professionals: Rs. 1000/-
  • Students: Rs. 500/-

Registration fee is not refundable. The payment should be made through Demand Draft in favour of "Teerthanker Mahaveer University" payable at Moradabad or by Cash.
