2nd University of Petroleum and Energy Studies National Trial Advocacy Competition 2015

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies is pleased to organize the 2nd National Trial Advocacy Competition 2015.

Date: 19th - 21st February, 2015
Venue: University of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun

Eligibility and Team Composition:

  • This competition is open to all the students for participation who are enrolled for full time LLB programme.
  • All teams would be registered with a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 4. There can be only 2 speakers and 2 researchers.
  • The witnesses shall be provided by the college itself and in no case can there be any extra witnesses other than those provided designated as speakers.
  • The teams can also designate two members for prosecution and two for defence. In case of such an arrangement, the team will have to inform the Moot Court Committee prior to the event.

Registration:

  • The registration of the teams for the competition shall be strictly done on first come first serve basis.
  • The teams shall submit duly completed registration form along with the demand draft in soft copy by sending the scanned copy of both at upesmca.trialadvocacy@gmail.com on or before14th February, 2015 by putting the subject of the mail as "Registration Form: "Institution Name" and hard copy on or before 16th February, 2015 to the communication address mentioned in the rule book.
  • All teams shall be given a team code by the committee after completion of registration.
  • Thereafter, the teams shall use their designated team code for any further correspondence.
  • All the teams who have sent their completed registration form along with the demand draft shall arrive and verify the details in person at the Dehradun Campus on 18th February, 2015 not later than 2 pm.
    • Draw of Lots: The lots shall be drawn by the teams before the preliminary rounds, quarter final, & semifinal to decide the match-ups.
    • Maximum number of teams: A maximum of 20 teams shall participate in the competition which may be increased at the sole discretion of the administrator.
  • Registration Fees: A nominal registration fee of Rs. 2500/- shall be charged from the teams of participating Universities/Colleges/Institutions.
  • The registration fee must be submitted by a Demand Draft of any National Bank drawn in favour of "UPES Fee Account" payable at Dehradun.

14th February, 2015

Last Date for the receipt of Hard Copy of Registration Form and DD.

16th February, 2015

Exchange of Memorials at 03:00pm

18th February, 2015

Preliminary Rounds

Quarter Final and Semi-Final
