Fiat Justitia National Moot Court Competition, 2015

We are glad to inform you that Law 85 Trust, along with the students of Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, Chennai are conducting the Fiat Justitia National Moot Court Competition, 2015.

Date: 20th - 22nd February, 2015
Venue: Dr. Ambedkar Government Law College, High Court Building Campus, NSC Bose Road, George Town, Chennai

The Fiat Justitia National Moot Court Competition has been among a series of successful moot court competitions, with remarkable response from Law teams across the country in previous years, Acclaimed for its intellectually stimulating moot problems, high standards of Judging and Transparency.

Having successfully hosted Competitions, we are looking forward to organize a more exciting and enriching experience for all the teams participating in the competition this year. The current edition deals with emerging issues in Indian Commercial Law. We cordially invite your esteemed institution to participate in the competition.

Team Composition and Eligibility:

  • Students pursuing three or five year courses of the LL.B. degree in the academic year 2014 - 2015 from any recognized law school/college/university in India are eligible to participate.
  • Bonafide students of law colleges within India recognized by the Bar Council of India pursuing L.L.B/B.L or any equivalent degree, of both three year and five year course are eligible to participate. A law school/college/university shall be entitled to send only one team to the Competition.
  • The participating team shall comprise of a minimum of two members and maximum of three members. This team composition cannot be altered under any circumstance. In a team comprising of two members, both the members shall be designated as Speakers. In a team comprising of three members, two members shall be designated as Speakers and the third member of the team shall be designated as Researcher.
  • Upon prior approval from the organizers the teams may have a designated observer. No other additional member or team coach is allowed to accompany the team.
  • The maximum participating institutions has been limited to 32.

Registration:

  • The Institutions should provisionally register themselves by sending an email to fjmoot@gmail.com, latest by 23rd January, 2015.
  • Institutions must complete their registration by sending an email to fjmoot@gmail.com, latest by 30th January, 2015. The email should include a scanned copy of the duly filled registration form and a scanned copy of the required registration fee document(s).
  • The hard copy of the duly filled registration form must be submitted to the organizers latest by 30th January, 2015
  • A "Team Code" will be allotted to the teams via email once the registration is complete as per the procedure.
  • The Registration shall be deemed complete when the Registration form reaches the organizers either by email or speed post with details duly filled in.

Payment of Registration Fees:

  • The registered teams are required to send a scanned copy of a Demand Draft of Rs. 1000/- in favour of "LAW 85 TRUST" to fjmoot@gmail.com by 28th January, 2015 failing which the participation of the team will be cancelled.
  • The Demand Draft and the registration forms should be sent on or before 30th January, 2015 to the following address:

Hospitality:

  • Accommodation for all outstation teams, food and transportation to and from place of accommodation and competition, shall be provided to all teams by the Organizers.
  • Teams who intend to arrive prior to or leave after the specified dates are required to make their own arrangements.
  • Travel expenses to and from Chennai should be managed by the participants themselves. The travel details must be intimated to the Organizers for arranging shuttle from the airport/railway station or bus terminus. Teams should send their travel plan, as and when asked by the Organizing Committee, once Demand Draft has been submitted and registration is completed.
