CUSAT Common Admission Test (CAT) 2011 - Admission Process

CUSAT is a premier Science and Technology University of the country. While striving to live up to the expectations of the society, the University has made quantum leaps in its academic pursuits and has spread its wings far and wide to encompass new and emerging frontiers across the academic horizon. CUSAT is academically structured into 9 faculties: Engineering, Environmental Studies, Humanities, Law, Marine Sciences, Medical Sciences & Technology, Science, Social Sciences and Technology.

CUSAT CAT 2011 Courses Offered:
1. B.B.A LL.B. (Hons.) - 5 yr Course
2. LL.M

CUSAT CAT 2011 Eligibility Criteria:

For 5 Year B.B.A LL.B. (Hons.)
  • Pass in Plus Two examination with 60% marks in Science/Commerce group or 55% marks in Arts/Humanities.
  • Should not have completed 20 years of age on July 1st of the year of admission. 22 years in the case of SC/ST & OBC

  • For LL.M
  • Bachelor's degree in Law with at least 45% marks.

  • Test Pattern for CUSAT CAT 2011:

    Group Discussion and Interview
    Applicants for B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.), LL.M. will be short-listed on the basis of their performance at the CAT and will be required to attend Group Discussion and / or Interview.

    Rank lists for B.B.A. L.L.B. (Hons.), LL.M.are prepared on the combined basis of the CAT score, performance at Group Discussion and / or Interview as indicated below:

    For B.B.A.LL.B.(Hons.) and LL.M.
    CAT Score: 70%
    Group Discussion: 15%
    Interview: 15%
    Total: 100%

    Aptitude Test for B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons) (Test 201)
    The Test for B.B.A. LL.B.(Test Code 201) comprises 150 objective type questions designed to test the proficiency in General English (50 questions) ability in reasoning and logical thinking (50 questions) proficiency in General Knowledge and Current affairs (25 questions) and in law related matters (25 questions). The maximum marks will be 450.

    Applicants for B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) irrespective of whether or not they are applicants for any other programme, have to necessarily take the Test 201.

    Test for LL.M. (Test Code 610)
    The Test for LL.M. (Test 610) comprises two parts:
    Part I - Proficiency in English, Analytical & other abilities and General Knowledge
    Part II - Proficiency in the related subjects.

    Application Procedure for CUSAT CAT 2011:
    The Chalan form (in triplicate) downloaded from the website www.cusat.nic.in after online registration can be used to remit the application fee at the bank. The fee can be remitted at any branch of State Bank of India OR State bank of Travancore. The student's copy as well as the University copy of the chalan form with the journal no. written on it will be returned to the candidate by the bank as proof of remittance. The University copy of the fee paid chalan should be attached along with the duly filled confirmation page. Other mode of payments such as Demand Drafts, cheques, money order etc will not be accepted.

    For Offline applications
    The required fee should be paid by way of Demand Draft drawn in favor of the Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam.

    For International Candidates
    The required fee should be paid by way of Demand Draft / Pay order/Any other instrument (which does not involve collection charges on the part of the University) favouring Registrar, CUSAT.

    SC/ST Category Candidates Rs.375/-
