1st National Case Writing Workshop at Symbiosis Law School, Noida

Symbiosis Law School, Noida and the Teaching Learning Resource Centre, SIU present the 1st National Case Writing Workshop

Date: 27th - 31st January, 2014

The use of case studies has been recognized as an effective approach in teaching and learning not only by business schools, but also across disciplines. A teaching case is a rich narrative, which brings energy and excitement to the classroom, providing students with an opportunity to work with a range of evidence, and improving their ability to apply the vocabulary, theory and methods they have learned in the course.

The purpose of this case writing workshop is to identify and expose the experiential, writing and creative skills of the participants. Through a series of interactive exercises, case discussions, group interactions, and presentations of participants' cases, attendees will gain a fresh perspective on developing cases for virtually any discipline.

Objectives:
Case writers will:

  • Learn effective case writing techniques
  • Gain confidence to develop their own teaching notes
  • Get an opportunity to visit organizations and identify and analyze real world problems.

Attendees:
Writing Cases will be of benefit to a wide audience, including:

  • Beginners and experienced case writers
  • Faculty/ Research Scholars keen to enhance their performance
  • Top and mid-level Managers/Trainers who wish to gain in-depth understanding of organizational problems and their solutions
  • Legal professionals who wish to gain advanced understanding of legal problems and their solutions.

Benefits:
Participants will have the opportunity to write a field-based case and teaching note, working through all the steps of the case writing process. The workshop instructor will review all the cases developed during the workshop before preparing the final drafts. Cases developed during the workshop will be sent for the publication to the European Case Clearing House (ECCH).

Registration:
Registration Fee: Rs. 3000.

This fee includes the course material and lunch. The registration fee along with the registration form may be sent in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favor of Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA (Payable at NOIDA). Please write your name and contact number (Mobile/Landline) at the back of the demand draft. On the spot registrations or cash payments will not be permitted. All the participants will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Deadline:
The fee should reach the Workshop Coordinators by 15th January, 2014 at Symbiosis Law School, Noida, Sector 62, A Block, 47/48, NOIDA 201301 (UP-India).

Accommodation:
There is limited on campus accommodation on a first come first serve basis. Off campus accommodation on concessional rates is also available. Once registration formalities have been completed, please contact the coordinators for accommodation on/off campus.
