Army Institute of Law - Law Entrance Test (LET)

As per Government of Punjab notification No. 13/10/2010-6EDU1 dated 31 May 2010. The Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar will conduct & coordinate the admissions to B.A. LL.B. (5 Year Course) for academic session 2010-11. As per notification out of 80 seats of Army Institute of Law, Mohali 12 seats of Punjab Residents of Civil Category will be filled up based on 10+2 merit through online counseling by GNDU, Amritsar and 64 seats of wards of Army Personnel and 4 seats of All India General Category will be filled up by AIL, Mohali through a Written Entrance Test followed by centralized counseling by GNDU.

Eligibility Criteria:

A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination from Punjab School Education Board or any other equivalent examination recognized as such by the Punjabi University, Patiala, securing at least 45% marks (40% in case of SC/ST candidates) vide Punjabi University Letter No.216468/Meeting-4 dated 7 May 2004. He/She should not have completed the age of 21 years on 1 July, 2010.

Submission of Application Fee and Application Form

  • Application and counseling Fee - Rs 1600/- (including Rs 1000/- of GNDU Fee)
  • Last date for submission of application form along with application and counseling fee is 23 June 2010.
Students can also apply online through website www.armyinstituteoflaw.org
  • Option 1 (Through Axis Bank only): Fill up the application fee deposit form and deposit the fee in any branch of Axis Bank Ltd and mention the Scroll No./Receipt No. issued by the Bank in the online application form. Also submit the scanned copy of the receipt with application.
  • or
  • Option 2 (through any other bank with NEFT facility): Pay the application fee through NEFT system & Fill the application form online. For NEFT System please contact your bankers and mention the Scroll No./Receipt No. issued by the Bank in the online application form. Also submit the scanned copy of the receipt with application.Candidate Instructions
    Prospective students should apply either online or by downloading application cum admission form & sending it through post/courier etc. Please read the admission eligibility criteria and other information carefully, before filling the online Application. All the fields in the online application form are required to be filled before pressing the submit button. The information furnished by the candidate will be treated as final and no subsequent changes will be allowed. The Institute will not be responsible for wrong entries made by candidate in the application form.

Conduct of Examination:
The Entrance Test shall be conducted on July 4, 2010 from 2:30 pm to 5.30 pm.
The result of the Entrance Test shall be valid for the purpose of admission only for the academic year 2010-11. The Entrance Test will consist of a paper with 4 sections of three hours duration in a single sitting to be conducted as Mental Ability, G.K. & Current Affairs, Aptitude for Law and General English with Maximum of 300 Marks. The result of entrance test will be declared by AIL, Mohali on 9th July 2010. After the declaration of result of Law Entrance Test 2010, successful candidates will be counseled at the nominated University as per schedule notified by them. First counseling will be held on 11th July, 2010. The classes of B.A., LL.B. 1st Semester will commence from 19th July 2010.

CANDIDATE SHOULD NOTE THAT THEIR CANDIDATURE IS PURELY PROVISIONAL. At any stage of admission process, if it is found that the candidates included in the rank list or candidates admitted to the course does not satisfy the eligibility criteria for the course or if any information furnished by the candidate is found to be false at any stage of verification their candidature or the admission offered will be immediately forfeited.
