1st NLA Nuclear Law Debate with Jindal Global Law School
The first ever Nuclear Law Parliamentary Debate is to br held at Jindal Global Law School in collaboration with the Nuclear Law Association, from 15th to 18th February, 2012.
The format will be that followed in most debates in the subcontinent- Three-on-three Asian Parliamentary style, and the entire tournament will be held on the JGLS campus outside of Sonipat, NCR of Delhi.
All debates will be centered on the theme of Nuclear energy, with a specific sub-theme for each of the five preliminary rounds in the tournament.
In order to maintain the highest standards of debating and adjudication, a tournament cap of no more than 24 teams has been decided upon.
A strict rule of n=1 will be followed for the adjudicators accompanying the team, and each college is allowed to register only ONE team.
Therefore, each college debate team will constitute of three speaker + one accompanying adjudicator.
Accommodation and food will be provided on campus and transport from and back to pre-designated railway stations, bus stops, airport or other central locations in Delhi will be provided to all teams. The costs for all three (Accommodation + Food + Transport) will be covered by the Rs. 1000/- (per head) registration fee.
In addition to the chance of competing at this prestigious debate, participants will have an opportunity to attend not only the customary break night soiree but take part in a range of activities on campus, including a Karaoke/Open-mic night, an on-campus charity concert with a major headlining band and events organized by the JGLS Literary and Fine Arts Society.
Information regarding the Adjudication Core would only be intimated after the finalization and confirmation of the same as we would hate to promise but not deliver. However, rest assured that some of the best and biggest names in adjudication circles in the country will be in attendance in JGLS for the tournament.
The last date for registration on the basis of the pre-invites has been revised to 5th January, 2012 (time: 11:59 pm). Open registration would commence only after the deadline for pre-invite based registration is over.
