NLU-Orissa and NLS-Assam to join CLAT from next year
National Law University, Orissa and National Law School and Judicial Academy, Assam have decided to join CLAT club from the next year. The CLAT is an all India entrance examination for admissions to their under-graduate and post-graduate degree programmes (LL.B & LL.M).
An official at the CLAT office at NUJS Kolkata, which ran the CLAT 2011, confirmed that the two colleges would be very likely to be part of the CLAT 2012, although the official decision would only be confirmed once NLU Jodhpur takes over as CLAT convenor from October.
NLUO, which came into being in 2009, had been conducting its own admission tests till date. The admission tests had, in fact, gained acclaim of top evaluators of law tests from across the country.
If the two schools join the CLAT, this would take the official list of colleges supporting the admissions test to at least 13.
